Information for our Application Process
Whether you are applying as a first time applicant or a renewal, you may do so either in office as a walk-in or through our online portal Permitium. Applications are not accepted through the mail. You also do not need an appointment.
Please Note: if you have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor one, misdemeanor that is domestic related, felony charge or crime of violence or drugs, you will be denied a concealed carry license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
In addition, gun permit applicants that falsify this application can be charged with SS. 4904; unsworn falsification to authorities. Please answer all questions truthfully.
Walk-In:
Applications are available in officeor may bedownloaded as a fillable PDF(print sign and bring in).
This option is same day issue pending a background check.
The fee is $20 cash payment. We are unable to process credit card transactions at this time. Thank you!
Permitium:
Applications are also available to completedonline at Permitium.
This option is NOT same day issue.
Applicants will receive an email notification once the application is approved and ready for pick up. This email will provide all necessary instructions and information for pick up.
Note: if a pickup is not completed within 45 days of approval, the application will be voided, and you will need to re-apply. No exceptions and no refunds.
If you are Renewing:
A concealed carry license is renewed every five years. The earliest you can renew is 60 days prior to the expiration date. Our office will mail out a renewal letter at that time.You will need to complete an application again; either as a walk-in or through Permitium, while providing your valid PA driver’s license or identification card.
Note: if you have a permit issued through a different county that is due for renewal and you are now a Bucks County resident, you will be applying as a “new applicant”.
If you are a New Applicant:
You will need to complete an application; either as a walk-in or through Permitium, while providing your valid PA driver’s license or identification card.If the issued date on your driver’s license or identification card is within the last six months, you will need to provide proof of residency along with your application.
Acceptable proof of residency includes either:
- Your previous driver’s license or identification card; if it has a Bucks County address.
- Two different utility bills:
- Electric, Gas, Water, Sewer, Cable, Internet, Cell Phone, Lease, Mortgage Statement.
In the event you are unable to provide the proofs of residency listed above, you will need to wait six months from the issued date on your driver’s license or identification card and on that date, you may re-apply without needing to provide the proofs.
Active-Duty Military:
This applies to any Active-Duty Military that possess a driver’s license from another state. You will need to provide the following below:
- Valid driver’s license or identification card.
- Must be stationed in Pennsylvania.
- Copy of orders verifying that you are stationed in Pennsylvania.
- Must be currently living in Bucks County.
- Two different utility bills.
- Electric, Gas, Water, Sewer, Cable, Internet, Cell Phone, Lease, Mortgage Statement.
Lost/Stolen Concealed Carry License:
If your concealed carry license has been lost or stolen, we will need the Lost/Stolen Permit form filled out and notarized.
In addition to this form, you will also need to fill out aconcealed carry license application.
These are also available in office at any of our three locations.
Please bring the completed forms to our office with your valid PA driver’s license or identification card along with your $20 cash payment.
We will revoke your lost/stolen concealed carry license and will process your completed application as “new”.
Note: if you also lost your PA driver’s license or identification card, you will need to first obtain a new one through PennDot before applying for your concealed carry license through our office.
Denial Reversal:
Applicants that were previously denied upon applying and received a denial reversal letter from the Pennsylvania State Police will need to re-apply in office at the Doylestown location only.
You will need to fill out aconcealed carry license application.

Please bring your denial reversal letter with your valid PA driver’s license or identification card along with your $15 cash payment only.
